Corporate Corporate
Davey Music also has an increasing portfolio of corporate events, and can provide a range of Irish traditional and classical musicians and singers for every possible event including conferences, product launches and hospitality events. A solo harp or piano can add an elegant touch to any event and for something a bit more energetic, ’The Blackstaff Folk Group & Céilí Band' can entertain the audience with the full range of Irish ballads and popular songs.

To encourage more guest participation, we can provide an authentic Irish or Scottish céilí experience with with an experienced caller who will get the guests up on the dance floor and guide them through all the steps. We also work with world-class Irish dancers to provide a complete and unforgettable evening of the very best Irish traditional entertainment. Recent corporate engagements have included providing music for a major radiology conference at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, for the Cancer Outcomes conference at Titanic Belfast, and during the recent Belfast Tall Ships Festival.

We regularly support community events and are pleased to offer special packages for community groups and charitable organisations. For further information about the corporate services we offer, please email Patrick on info@daveymusicweddings.com

"I have worked with Davey Music for the past few years now and the entire experience has been seamless from initial communications to delivery/performance. Our work is varied and the requirements often change at Queen’s, so on occasion Patrick has come up with creative solutions to those to provide that unique input. Their reliability and professionalism are second to none and in my role this is what I require from a company. In addition to all that of course there is the music and their repertoire is exceptional and eclectic. Above all other ensembles we have appointed previously, they have received the most positive comments from both staff and event/conference attendees. I would have no hesitation in recommending them and always look forward to the next time we work together." Angela Haley, Events and Conferencing Manager, Queen’s University Belfast
Education
Patrick Davey has been teaching Irish traditional music on the uilleann pipes, flute and whistle for over 30 years, working both privately and in local schools. He is very much in demand as a tutor of Irish traditional music and has considerable experience in preparing students for the Irish traditional music grade and diploma examinations of The London College of Music, for important school practical examinations and local and national music competitions. In 2019, two of Patrick’s students were crowned All-Ireland champions at the prestigious All-Ireland Fleadh in Drogheda.

Many of Patrick's students have achieved notable successes and have progressed to become respected performers and tutors in their own right. Patrick also works in a number of local primary and post-primary schools, teaching individual and group lessons and directing student ensembles to give performances at school concerts, functions and open nights. Students are also encouraged to progress through the LCM graded examinations as these can contribute UCAS points for university entry.

As well as providing weekly tuition, Patrick can also give bespoke school workshops, working with students on curriculum-based musical projects. Recent projects have included guiding the students of Elmgrove Primary School in East Belfast through the process of composing an original song on the topic of the Irish famine, working with the students of St. Anne's Primary School in South Belfast to create a soundscape based on the Belfast shipyard and the construction of the Titanic, and the provision of workshops to St. Michael’s Nursery School in Belfast, which teach the children about the treasury of Belfast street songs. "Davey Music has for a number of years provided our children with fabulous workshops! The careully curated sessions engage our children at a deep level giving them the opportunity to listen, respond and perform with these talented musicians. The session was perfectly pitched for our little ones, and our parents could not have been more complimentary, loving the opportunity to experience this celebration of music alongside their kids. Without question this will be a repeat booking!" Clare McAllister, Principal, St. Michael’s Nursery School, Belfast
